Project Overview

Piping design and stress analysis for one of the world's largest copper-gold mines in the South Gobi Desert, Mongolia.

Worked as a Senior Mechanical/Piping Engineer at Jacobs to carry out piping design on mining projects for the Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold mine. Performed pipe stress analysis, concept design, project management and estimation, mentoring, and vendor liaison. Checked Line Lists, Valve lists, SP Items lists, and Tie In Lists. Generated deficiency lists and aided the procurement team. Oyu Tolgoi is one of the world's largest known copper-gold deposits, with an underground mine complex using block-caving mining techniques, located approximately 550km south of Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia's South Gobi Desert.
