Project Overview

US gypsum tailings relocation project in Chile for Anglo American's Perez Caldera operation.

Working as a Senior/Lead Mechanical Piping Process Engineer at Royal IHC overseeing successful completion of a fast-paced project in Chile. The project involves relocation of gypsum tailings from an existing tailings dam to another safe location. Design included sizing and design of pumping systems and pipeline design on a US Million project. KPIs include ensuring design is done safely and adhering to relevant standards and taking project from study to execution. A regular day involves design team meetings and stakeholder meetings across multidisciplinary functions. The Perez Caldera mine is a major copper and molybdenum operation in the Atacama region of Chile, operated by Anglo American.
